Who we are
Edinburgh Motorcycle Training, 15 Clippens Yard, Straiton, EH20 9NS, is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us on 01721 728398 or at edinburghmotorcycletraining@gmail.com.
What information do we collect?
When you send an enquiry, call back request or booking request through this website we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address, the area you are travelling from, the course you are interested in, whether you hold CBT and theory certificates, and your message.
When you book a course we also need to see your driving licence and, for Direct Access, your CBT and theory test certificates.
How do we use it?
We use your details only to reply to your enquiry, arrange and deliver your training, and meet our legal obligations as a training body. Our lawful bases are taking steps to enter into a contract with you, performing that contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. We do not sell your information or use it for third-party marketing.
Who do we share it with?
- Website hosting and enquiry storage: Cloudflare, which hosts this website and stores form submissions.
- Email delivery: our email providers, used to deliver your enquiry to our office.
- Online booking: ITM and CBT bookings made online are processed by RideTo, which has its own privacy policy.
- DVSA: details required to issue certificates and book tests.
How long do we keep it?
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Training and booking records are kept for as long as we are required to keep them for regulatory, tax and insurance purposes.
Cookies
This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Our enquiry forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is sending them; it runs only on pages with a form and does not track you across websites. The map on our areas page loads map images from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address to deliver them. Videos are only loaded from YouTube when you press play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Links to Google Maps, RideTo, Facebook and Instagram take you to those services, which set their own cookies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to or restrict how we use it. Contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
