What is the CBT renewal course?

A course designed for riders who have already completed a CBT and are required to re-certify every two years. The course is also a pathway to the Direct Access Scheme for a full motorcycle licence.

Because you already ride, the day concentrates on sharpening your road riding and correcting habits, and your instructor can advise on whether you are ready for DAS.

  • Riders whose 2-year CBT certificate is running out
  • Riders planning to move on to Direct Access

How much is a CBT renewal?

A CBT renewal at Edinburgh Motorcycle Training is £175 per person, £20 less than a first weekday CBT.

Can I ride after my CBT expires?

No. Once the 2-year certificate expires you cannot ride on the road until you renew your CBT or pass your full test.
