Is it worth travelling from Galashiels to train?
From Galashiels, Melrose, Tweedbank or Selkirk the A7 runs north through Stow to the bypass at Sheriffhall, where you turn west for the Straiton junction.
Because you are travelling, it is worth knowing that a CBT at EMT includes up to 12 hours of training. If you need a second session to finish the course, it is already covered.
How do I get to the training yard from Galashiels?
From Galashiels, take the A7 north to Sheriffhall, then the A720 bypass west to Straiton. It is about 30 miles and takes about 50 minutes by car in normal traffic outside rush hour. The yard is Yard 15 in the Clippens industrial estate, opposite Straiton retail park, and there is parking on site.
