Is it worth travelling from Kirkcaldy to train?
From Kirkcaldy, Burntisland or Glenrothes the A92 leads to the M90, which crosses the Forth on the Queensferry Crossing. On the Edinburgh side the bypass takes you round to Straiton.
One thing to plan for: the Queensferry Crossing is part of the M90 motorway, and learner riders cannot use motorways. Until you hold a full licence, come to training days by car or as a passenger, not on a learner bike.
How do I get to the training yard from Kirkcaldy?
From Kirkcaldy, take the A92 and M90 over the Queensferry Crossing, then the A720 bypass to Straiton. It is about 35 miles and takes about 50 minutes by car in normal traffic outside rush hour. The yard is Yard 15 in the Clippens industrial estate, opposite Straiton retail park, and there is parking on site.
