Where do Currie and Balerno riders do their motorcycle training?
Currie, Balerno and Juniper Green sit on the A70 just outside the bypass, so the trip to Straiton is a short run east along the A720 with no city-centre traffic at all.
Heriot-Watt University's Riccarton campus is close by. For students and staff, a CBT and a 125cc is an affordable way to get around the west of Edinburgh, and the ITM gives complete beginners a short, low-cost first session to see if riding suits them.
How do I get to the training yard from Currie and Balerno?
From Currie and Balerno, take the A70 to the A720 bypass, then east to the Straiton junction. It is about 8 miles and takes 15 to 20 minutes by car in normal traffic outside rush hour. The yard is Yard 15 in the Clippens industrial estate, opposite Straiton retail park, and there is parking on site.
