Where do Penicuik riders do their motorcycle training?
From Penicuik you simply follow the A701 through Auchendinny junction and Bilston to Straiton. There is no need to use the bypass at all.
The roads south of Straiton towards Penicuik, Howgate and Leadburn are also some of the quieter routes used for on-road training, so Penicuik riders tend to find themselves on familiar ground.
How do I get to the training yard from Penicuik?
From Penicuik, take the A701 north through Bilston. It is about 5 miles and takes about 12 minutes by car in normal traffic outside rush hour. The yard is Yard 15 in the Clippens industrial estate, opposite Straiton retail park, and there is parking on site.
