Where do Dalkeith riders do their motorcycle training?
From Dalkeith, Eskbank or Mayfield the quickest way to us is the bypass from Sheriffhall, coming off at the Straiton junction. The back road through Lasswade and Loanhead on the A768 takes about the same time.
If you are new to bikes, start with the 1.5 hour Introduction to Motorcycling, then return for a CBT. Once you have your CBT, a 125cc makes short work of the commute into Edinburgh from Midlothian.
How do I get to the training yard from Dalkeith?
From Dalkeith, take the A720 bypass west from Sheriffhall to the Straiton junction. It is about 4.5 miles and takes about 10 minutes by car in normal traffic outside rush hour. The yard is Yard 15 in the Clippens industrial estate, opposite Straiton retail park, and there is parking on site.
Address: Edinburgh Motorcycle Training, 15 Clippens Yard, Straiton, EH20 9NS. Open in Google Maps.
Which places near Dalkeith is the yard also handy for?
The same journey works from Eskbank, Newbattle, Mayfield, Easthouses, Woodburn and Danderhall.
