Where do Haddington riders do their motorcycle training?
The A1 is dual carriageway all the way from Haddington to the bypass, so the journey is quick and predictable. North Berwick, Dunbar, East Linton and Gifford riders use the same route.
For Direct Access students travelling in, it helps to know the pattern: most training days fall on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, with the two tests on weekdays, so you can plan time off around it.
How do I get to the training yard from Haddington?
From Haddington, take the A1 west, then the A720 bypass to Straiton. It is about 18 miles and takes about 25 minutes by car in normal traffic outside rush hour. The yard is Yard 15 in the Clippens industrial estate, opposite Straiton retail park, and there is parking on site.
Address: Edinburgh Motorcycle Training, 15 Clippens Yard, Straiton, EH20 9NS. Open in Google Maps.
Which places near Haddington is the yard also handy for?
The same journey works from North Berwick, Dunbar, East Linton, Gifford, Aberlady and Pencaitland.
